Jupiter Farms: Beacon Baptist Church is almost ready

Jupiter Farms is getting another church.   Beacon Baptist Church which has been holding services on Center Street in the heart of Jupiter since 1956 in a building built by Jupiter pioneers in 1924.  As the congregation continued to grown under Pastor Jim Blalock, they built a new auditorium but even that proved to be insufficient as the numbers continued to climb.  So, the church purchased 20 acres on Indiantown Road in Jupiter on the corner of Haney Lane and began plans for a new church.

The church had to jump through a lot of hoops with the county, as one would expect, and they got input from the neighbors and the Jupiter Farms residents.  There were concerns about traffic and lighting, especially since there is seating for around 800 people and they plan to build a gym to attract youth.

Finally, Beacon Baptist is ready to open and the first service should be in 2 weeks.
